back in action

All I have to say is that I am exhausted and am soo ready to hit the bed for at least a week. Maybe two. These last couple of days really took a toll on me, but it was well worth it! I headed up to Omaha, Nebraska to visit one of my good friends, Leigh. She was my only Asian friend during High School and we have been besties ever since.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take out my camera during my stay and only took two pictures!  I’ve learned my lesson and definitely won’t pull this again, especially in China :D .

Leigh and her co-workers @ Upstream Brewing Company!

hey omaha hey!

After spending two nights in “the Ha”, I drove back early Saturday morning to catch a 2pm wedding with my friend Honey Nut Lo.  Surprisingly, we made the ceremony just in time…after a couple of wrong turns and detours, of course. We drove around the church for a good 15 minutes before actually finding the entrance. SOML.

Congrats Jenn and Jay!

The bride was beautiful and the whole wedding and reception was flawless. I didn’t know the couple personally, but I could tell they were so happy together. I can’t believe how many people I know are getting married these days. It makes me feel so old. I want my childhood back please! Or at least let me stay 23 forever. I love being young and free. I love that the world is at my fingertips and I that get to explore every inch of it if I so chose. I love the people who stand by me during this time in my life and the ones who will be with me in the future. Life is perfect right now and I could not ask for more.

I am heading to Baltimore this Wednesday for two days to visit my cousin who is graduating from Johns Hopkins University with a PhD. I am so excited because I get to see my Aunt and Uncle who came here from China to see him. This is their first time in the United States and are so excited to be here!  We are all so proud of him!

Not being home has put a halt to my recipes countdown, but after a nice detox, I will be back in action!

Chinese word of the day: 爱 (ai: pronounced as if you were saying “eye”) – Love

Anica
