Only 5 days left! This packing procrastination is still kicking me in the butt. My suitcase is still empty and I have yet to check my itinerary. Don’t get me wrong, I am jumping off my chair, shouting from the rooftop excited, but my nervousness is definitely unsettling. Thankfully, my mini vaca to Baltimore and aunt and uncle’s arrival to Kansas has kept me so busy that I haven’t had the time to feel anxious about the big move. Baltimore was great, but I didn’t know flying from Kansas City took 24 hours? Due to the flight delay from KC, we missed our connecting flight in Chicago and spent most of the time there arguing with American Airlines and dealing with their rude service. I won’t go into detail about what happened, but lets just say my mom and I spend a good 2 hours running around O’Hare airport talking to American Airline agents who had no idea what they were doing. We ended up booking a hotel at midnight, only to wake up 3 hours later to catch a flight out. I always believe there is a lesson to be learned in every experience. In this case, I learned that unless you prefer horrible customer service, spare yourself the stress and fly Southwest instead of American Airlines.
After finally landing in Baltimore, we were greeted by our family and set off to Washington D.C for the day. We climbed trees, visited museums and basically became the typical tourist in this city. Not my cup of tea, but whatever makes my family happy
.
One of the main reason I want to live in China is because my whole family is there. Holidays weren’t the same in my house since we didn’t have many people to celebrate with. I can’t wait to spend Chinese New Years with my family!!! I missed out on so much while I was gone and I am so excited to be able to reconnect with everyone I love.
