UNSTOPPABLE CHINA – Teaser

My video submission for the internship contest at The Resort at Isla Palenque. Enjoy!

UNSTOPPABLE ANICA in Beijing (Episode 1)

After having been selected by the judges to be one of the top 12 (out of 95 applicants), I was required to create an island intern thesis.

Panel of Judges

Benjamin Loomis, President, Amble Resorts

Horst Schulze, Chairman and CEO, The West Paces Hotel Group

Richard Shaw, Principal, Design Workshop

Chris Tackett, Social Media Editor, Treehugger.com

Comments from the judges panel:

“Anica has a wonderfully adventurous spirit and personality. I would like to see her have experiences outside of China.”

“I like her “unstoppable” attitude — it’s the kind of ambition that will land her on the Travel Channel one day if she really wants it. It’s nice to see an active travel blog instead of just a list of social media sites like many other candidates.”

“She is a humanitarian with a thirst for adventure. The presentation is a little jumbled, but her concept shines through. Her social media outreach is admirable, but I would like to see her rely less on parodies.”

“I love her blog, Unstoppable China — it’s a testament to the fact that she shares what she discovers as she travels. She has great ability to create content, would like to see her with a better camera and better production levels.”

Comments from Isla Palenque’s advocates:

“The video is very well done! I think Anica will be great at video blogging from the island. Her blog, Unstoppable China, is great too! “You must immerse yourself in an unfamiliar world in order to truly understand your own” (from Anica’s blog) — she sure sounds ready to embrace new challenges!” — Ayako Ezaki, Director of Communications, www.ecotourism.org & www.yourtravelchoice.org

“She is very articulate and well spoken with lots of travel experience.” — Grant Martin, Editor-in-Chief,www.gadling.com

“Her video was very well put together and nicely edited.  She is clearly very passionate about travel and has been keeping a blog for a long time, with regular updates and writes well. She hasn’t travelled as much as the others, but is clearly keen and would really throw herself into the experience.” — Anna Colclough, Co-Founder, www.tourdust.com

“One of my top two. I love her world mentality and attitude. She has great skills for the internship and a fun and interesting personality. I can see her being a great representative for Isla Palenque.” — Hope Dlugozima, VP of Social Media, www.mnn.com
